Drizzling in Singapore

Saucer and I were at Singapore some time ago and there was one particular night which was especially memorable. It was a quiet night and we were walking from Bugis street all the way to the Esplanade. I was most of the time attempting to take some nice night pictures by using the timer mode, because my hands were always not still enough. *shakes head* Thank god for my tripod too, or I wouldn't be able to take ANY decent pictures. Here is one taken from Esplanade towards Fullerton hotel, on a tripod, no less. LOL

Here is another picture from Esplanade as well. No doubt this was blurry, because I took it using my hands... *sigh* really I must get Image Stabilizer or Electronic Tripod, whatever you call it ...

Then we walked from Esplanade to the Merlion, after which it started to drizzle! :( But not before I took picture of this majestic and magnificent mermaid-lion! I think this picture turned out all right, especially from just a point-and-shoot. :)

Attempted to take a picture of us in front of Merlion, using the self-timer shot, but it started to drizzle quite badly, and I automatically took the umbrella along (it was covering the camera at first!). Then I realized what a funny shot it turned out to be! *LOL* Poor Merlion was being blocked...

XOXO,

Experience in Victoria Station

This is my second time in Victoria Station, cup and I went there for our special day celebration *wink*

This is the front view of Victoria Station in Penang, the building looks quite "chan" (bad condition in hokkien).

I made the reservation earlier and we chose to sit inside the "train" seat. Looking at the menu, the prices ranges starting from RM20++ for a main course.

This is our very first appetizer, a salad and a chocolate milkshake, it was nice and the price is quite cheap.

Cup order grilled lamb, the portion was just nice and taste was marvellous.

I ordered a sizzling steak with chips. It was served hot and maintained hot on the hotplate :)

Our dessert was "bombe alaska dessert", we enjoyed the way it was served. It was on fire! we just kept our eyes watching the waiter pouring the rum onto it. Serving for 2 persons.

This is the serving for 1 person, centered with vanilla ice-cream.
Overall, it was a nice experience and I definitely will go again someday.

Passion in Cooking

Cooking is always my passion and I love cooking with lots of herbs and spices - basil, parsley, rosemary...

Last weekend, I cooked grilled chicken and here are the ingredients;
  • 4 chicken legs, jointed
  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper (I use McD pepper, I always kept some when i dine there :p)
  • A big bunch of fresh basil, leaves picked, stalks finely chopped
  • 2 big handfuls of red and yellow cherry tomatoes, halved, and ripe plum tomatoes, quartered
  • 1 Lemon
  • 1 whole bulb of garlic, broken up into cloves
  • 1 fresh red chili finely chopped
  • Olive oil - I use Tesco Basil Infused Olive Oil
  • Optional: 1 14 ounce can of canellini beans, drained
  • Optional: 2 handfuls of new potatoes, scrubbed
  • Optional: linguini or spaghetti
Here is the result, looks nice huh? yes, it is as nice as it looks. I marinated the chicken with dried herbs, combination of oregano, basil, parsley, salt, etc.

the picture taken during cooking, not yet put basil leaves

Few seconds before serving, put basil leaves (not to overcook the leaves). I forgot to take the picture of serving, I guess it was too tempting and I couldn't resist to lay my hand on the chicken thigh and taste it, yummy.

More to come in the coming weekend, soon....
